How to force the amaryllis to bloom in Christmas
For a Christmas blooming of your Amaryllis plant, follow through these steps:
• After the flowering period, cut the floral stems, keeping the leaves living by watering the soil (the soil has to be always moist).
• Stop fertilizing it since August.
• In September-October or when low temperature, remove the potted amaryllis in a dry and cool place and stop watering it. This will make the foliage drying and also force the amaryllis plant to produce a new flowering stem.
• It’s the moment when you have to resume the watering and replace the potted amaryllis in warmth and full light, even sun.
• As we said before, amaryllis flower stems always appear before the leaves.
So your Amaryllis will delight you and your house in Christmas.
