amaryllis bulb

You’ll need one mature bulb (having some roots) and a pot so bigger than the bulb, so that remains about 5 cm between it and the borders of the pot, purchased sandy-loam soil mix (or homemade soil mix: one part leaf mold, one part coarse sand and one part loam) and a stick as a pylon for the floral stem.

  • First, you have to place the roots of the bulbs in lukewarm water for a few hours.
  • Then fill the container with soil till half and dispose the bulb so that 1/3 from it remains outside the soil.
  • Stick near the pylon for when the stem is growth.
  • Water well the soil.
  • Put the potted flower at the window or in full light (not directly sun) and maintain its soil moist, but not wet. You have to turn round the potted plant so that the stem grows right.

This is how you plant the Amaryllis bulb. Then it’s about waiting for Amaryllis to grow and especially to flower. Amaryllis flowers are precious and elegant as a lady.
